The advent of digital imaging and especially the development of specialised products and materials for monochrome work, mean that many more photographers are now able to become black and white printers. At the same time, experienced darkroom workers can utilise the many new facilities that working with programs such as Adobe Photoshop can add to their own creativity. In this CD-ROM three specialists in their own fields present their knowledge and ideas for achieving the very best quality in black and white digital imaging.
Les McLean is one of Britain’s leading fine art printers and is in great demand as author and lecturer. Over the past few years Les has applied his vast darkroom experience to digital imaging and on this disk he presents many of the creative techniques he has found useful in producing the highest standards in digital black and white printing.
Dr Richard Ross LRPS is well known among photographic enthusiasts as the owner of RH Designs, manufacturers of innovative darkroom equipment, as well as being an award winning photographer and exhibitor. Richard explains some of the technicalities of black and white digital imaging.
Richard Brown FRPS is a director of Explore Digital, producers of the disk, and first became involved in computer and software training in 1987. He lectures widely on digital imaging and has been using Adobe Photoshop professionally since version 2.0
The demonstrations on the disk use Photoshop, but almost all of the techniques and ideas can be applied to similar image editing programs.
